Lona Youngblood, age 97, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 14, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elston; parents, Andy and Molly Tucker; sisters, Minnie Rigsby, Angie Tucker, Lena Smith, Ola Earls, Sally Lance, Daisy Parton, Jennie Newby, Willie Lance, Jessye Thomson,…
I had the opportunity to meet Lona at Park Place recently. While helping her with making the bed and taking out the garbage, I was blessed by her wonderful disposition, caring attitude, sharp wit and love of Jesus and her wonderful family. I was also impressed that she completed her goal of finishing her book before Christmas. Such a lovely person, now able to sit at the feet of Jesus. May God continue to give you all comfort as you grieve the loss of this precious lady.
Glenda and Family , I am saddened by the loss of your Grandmother/mother. She was always kind to my family. Greeting everyone she met with a beautiful smile. Her life was an example of how to live as Christian woman. My father Robert H. Deal joins me in expressing our thoughts and prayers.
Lona, you were a wonderful friend, tablemate, and “neighbor” to my mother, Helen Rosenthal, and to me. I loved talking with you during meals, in your apartment, and …. You always brought a smile to my face and joy to my heart. For your family, they were your pride and joy. Lona could go on for hours talking about family gatherings and preparations for holidays.
